Turtle's day

The most important thing today was... the turtle! It was with us to help in work, because kids were making turtles today. They used the bottom of a plastic bottle to do this. First we looked at the the real turtle, who's name is Gustavson and it is my daughter's pet. Then Eco Kids drew it on the paper, making their own pattern of the turtle's shell. They decided what color of the paper they will use and what shapes will be on the shell. During the work we talked about it how you can save the paper and use it effectively. The projects came out beautiful. Kids were so creative! Let's see on the photos.

Because there was snow all around, Eco Kids also made a snowman today. This time it was a snowman made from egg boxes. It is interesting how many materials you can use to make different versions of a recycle snowman. Here at the ecoworkshop kids can see it and experience it. They painted and decorated the snowmen. The project was very interesting, they said.

Some of the kids decided also to start the other project made out also of the egg boxes, the pinguin. It needs a lot of work so most of them will finish it on the next Saturday.

The first group was playing with the ecogames board games and Stas with Samuel made a skate park. It was great for Samuel to have a help from an older friend. I must say he really appreciated it.

The second group today finished the horses and made bookmarks - so colorful and interesting. They were discussing with me, what they would like to do the next time.

And of course we were also playing outside, even though it was really cold. There was so much fun!

The next time we will start preparing for Valentine's Day. We will have to do many, many hearts in many, many different ways...
