Trees with the birds

This Saturday you could feel like in the forest with Eco Kids. They were making the trees, painting the bird houses and puting the birds on the trees. They did not do it at once. It was not easy to make it, but in the end all Eco Kids were very proud to have their own trees, still green, reminding summer. I hope they found a good place for it in the house.
The second project we did was the flower with butterfly. Flowers made out from the tubes after the kitchen towels and color paper looked just faboulos! My daugher and son gave their flowers to the grandmother for her birthday. She liked it so much! There was also a special project for the boys - they made the knights out of the toilet paper tube. It was my son's idea and project. All the boys liked it, made it and then played with it! Also one girl did it:)
I thought we would do all this colorful things, because now there is no summer anymore and we will have some dark and cold moths now. Kids liked the idea.
And of course we had a good weather and play outside before, between and after the projects.
The next note will be about the trip to apiary. Our meeting with the bees...

Eco drinks by Eco Kids

This Saturday we tried many new outdoor games and had a lot of fun. Here many thanks to my both sons, who helped me a lot in it! Eco Kids were running a lot, so snack with water and fruits were needed quite early. The most important is kids learn to play with friends, who are younger and they need to help them or older and then they can count on help from them. Everybody is involved, but if anybody would like to stop and just watch for a while can make it.

We still had time for projects. First group finished the dogs...

And then made candles from CD. You can see them on the photos drying. Kids liked that projects, because of simply idea of it, I think.

The second group too. This group had more time, because they finishe the dogs last Saturday, so we went for ice cream.

The most important project for this Eco Kids workshop was eco drink. We were talking about healthy drinks, what ingredients they should have, what is unhealthy in many drinks, why drinking healthy drinks is so important, etc. Kids made their own drinks out of glass bottle, they decided from which fruits, they put the name of it, etc. Doing this was very interesting.

Next week – next projects are coming... It will be also the last workshop in this session. Time flies especially when you enjoy!

The boat is ready to sail!

This was so exciting Saturday! We made a huge boat from the cardboard boxes. I had many of them after renovation in my house and of course how could I just throw them away? So we reused them to have a good time. We made the boat all together as a team. Age did not matter, everyone had something to build: life boats, sails, flag, etc. Kids were so excited and involved - it was just great to see it! This project was unique and I was happy kids loved it as much as I did.

The next project was a wooden dog. First Eco Kids had to connect all the pieces of wood to get the dog (terrier) ready to paint. It was not so easy, but they managed. They painted the dogs in brown, white, black, etc. The dogs were drying during the time of making the boat. The first group will finish them next Saturday, the second group, who did not make the boat, but was playing in it, had the time to finish the dogs. Second group put the spots on the dogs, they also made the cats out of the cat food boxes.
I gave all Eco Kids the books, where the dog was one of the characters. They were looking forward to read it at home.

Do you think that now the cardboard boxes are not useful anymore? No! We will build something new out of it and now I already have an idea...
