2 days winter break session rocks!

All the kids liked the session a lot and I am happy to announce it. We all had a very good and intensive time!
First day was Friday. We started outside playing some games even it was like a lake in the garden from the melting snow:) Important was that Eco Kids collected all the trash after the snowmen they made.

We ate some fruits and vegies, some yummy cookies from Zita's, Aisha's and Manka's mom later...

Then Eco Kids made the great ecoposters telling how to take care of the nature, how to be responsible and careful, how to reduce, reuse and recycle. It was something we were learning for weeks and the result you can see not only at the photos, but also on the door to our classroom. Eco Kids made 3 great posters in 3D. They were working in groups: Fernanda, Antek and Samuel, Manka and Aisha, Molly, Sophie, Helena, Ania and Zita. Each poster is special, colorful and says many important info. I am proud of Eco Kids who made them!

Apart from that there was another project for girls and another for the boys. Girls were making the wooden jewelery from the wood. They were designing it first and then painting. They add some other materials too. I find it really amazing!

During it Samuel and Antek were finishing the new garage project and later presenting it. Everybody liked it and was interested how it worked.

The second day was Saturday. Starting again outside we were against not a very nice weather so much that in the end some sun came out!

Later I proposed three projects to Eco Kids and they have chosen painting the hearts and decorating them with the mosaic. Making mosaic hearts took some time and demanded a lot of patience. The hearts came out out beautifully! Some were made for moms, some for daddies, some for friends. Samuel made the box for his toys.

The next project was a space ship with the alien inside. Space ship was made from the plastic bottle and alluminium, alien Eco Kids made from nuts and play-doh. Kids love to do the nuts projects, I have observed it before many times. Some Eco Kids put some aliens in the space ship and made for them computers, seats, etc. They had a lot of ideas!

The next session starts the next Saturday, 3th of March.I will send you all details soon.
I can tell you... I can't wait!

Butterflies fly with us

Every time the last activity in the session it is a very special one for many reasons. The same was this one. First it was not too cold for have a lot of fun playing outside, so Eco Kids played in the winter sunny day - both groups.

When we came to the classroom, they were looking forward to get some warm and... sweet, so I served warm chocolate waffels, but also fruits, vegies and water.

After eating we watched some interesting lasting some minutes stories and songs:
  • story "Sid The Seed" - story about the seed, which during the growing observes the animals growing and understands it comes the moment everyone grows.
  • story "A Ladybug Goes For A Walk" - about being small and... happy.
  • Polish song "O lesie" by Kasia Nosowska, great Polish singer - which promote the nature and shows many different animals living in the Polish forests.
  • American song "3R" - reduse, reuse and recycle
  • song by the group The Stomp "Kitchen", in which musicians play on the kichen tools

The art & craft project we did were Valentine's ones: hearts on the hanger and for girls, butterfly. On the hungers (if you have the ones from laundry at home, do not throw them away, but bring them! It is great for many projects!) Eco Kids put red and/or pink hearts with the names of the people they love. Then they decorated them. They went out just beautiful!

While the boys went again outside to play, Eco Girls were making the butterflies from the toilet tubes. They shaped the wings themselves and each butterfly looked differently and pretty. Then they played with them of course.

This was a great day and Eco Kids and me we enjoyed it a lot. Thanks to all of you who already have confirmed your Eco Kid attendance in the next session - the whole March, we have 5 Saturdays in March. There will be many the Easter one! And before - short winter break short session 25th & 26th which is almost fully booked now.

Looking forward to work with the little artists again!
