GREAT SATURDAY IS ECOSATURDAY! This Saturday the main project was "Save the Earth". Eco Kids were making the Earth. I gave them cardboard, the green and blue paint and helped a little bit with the shapes of continents. Then they wrote important messages and put them on Earth, for example: "This is the only planet to live. Save it", "Keep it clean. We need our Earth", "Take care of Mother Earth", etc. It was interesting to see kids working on it, thinking what they can say other people to help Earth. Later most of the kids were making the other planets. There were many ideas! I loved it! One was Moon, also Saturn, Mars, etc. Eco Kids also put on them messages, for example: "There is live on Mars. Save our planet".
The next thing we did with one of the groups were the silver rockets. Many kids have drawn the passengers in them. Just look at the pictures...
Also painting wooden boxes gave the kids a lot of fun. They had a lot of ideas what they can put into them: earrings, coins, necklaces, some Lego, tooth, etc. They painted them and one of the group decorated with... herbs and coffee.
Some kids were making "My Planting And Gardening Book" with many info we have learned during this session. I liked their ideas how to put all these info in the book.
We had also planting Marigold, Botanical name: Tagetes erecta Family: Asteraceae (Sunflower
family). More info:
Marigold are among the very popular flowers commonly found in India
and other countries. They can be easily cultivated, are widely
adaptable to varying soils and climatic conditions and have a good
flowering duration. This bushy plant with around 20 to 30 species,
have a long flowering period and the colours range from orange,
yellow, gold, cream to apricot. They are very much used in making
garlands. Make excellent beds and pot decorations.
Of course Eco Kids also played and had a lot of fun together. They are great as a team, what I always say to you! It is also part of being eco.
See you next week!!!
