Second day is another great day!

On the second day of WINTER ECOWORKSHOP we did a lot of things!
First and very important thing was a conversation "what we can do in our everyday life for nature". This was very interesting.
We started art and crafts with doing a big surprise candies. We used again the toilet tubes to this work some color paper, green string and nice stickers. The kids really liked to do it and in the end of the class when I asked the kids what art they liked the most of all we have done today it was mostly the answer that this one.

To the second art project we divided into two groups. One was making the garage (they liked so much the one we made yesterday) and... the skate park. The other group painted and decorated the Christmas trees, stars and snowman. The works were just great!

We went outside to play some, but first we made a recycling birthday cake for Helena. She was inside it! Then we sang Happy Birthday to her in English and Polish.

Birthday girl!

Later kids were playing tag, hide & seek, also we made a big bowling game. You should see the kids bowling with the cans, boxes and bottles. They were just fantastic!

Today was quite cold, so then we went inside to make another arts & crafts. It was a small present you can put on your Christmas tree, but also put on your desk. It was not easy to do, but kids did it with a small help.

Tomorrow we will make another projects. Looking forward!

First day of WINTER ECOWORKSHOP

It was a fantastic day! We have a great team for WINTER ECOWORKSHOP.
We started with talking about recycling. I showed the kids photos of amazing things which you can make out of recycled materials: lamps, furs, chairs, etc. They liked it a lot and they were really interested in everything. Then we looked around in the class, how many materials we have which we reuse, reduce and recycle.
Our first work was a reindeer from tubes of toilet paper. It was a lot of fun to make it and everyone's looked different.

The next art was made out of a jar of baby food. We made it Christmasy using green and red decorations. Kids had a lot of ideas how to make it.

During this the boys made a very big garage for cars! Antek helped Moritz to do it.

The third project was a star from remains of sponges coming from the sponge factory. It was easy to make and it will look unique on the Christmas tree.

The second part of the ecoworkshop was playing outside. We had great weather. We made 6 games - kind of olympics. There were 3 stages and at each one the kid did 2 activities. It was: boxes challenge (slalom), boxes snake, tower, aim for the box, crash it & smash it, and segregation. At the end we made a very, very long snake and last minutes kids were playing hide and seek.

 Looking forward to tomorrow!

Some info before the winter session

Dear all,

I am looking forward to the Eco Kids winter session!

It will be a great session full of interesting Christmas art craft, but also other things. We will use many different materials. We will play games outside using recycling materials too (boxes, bottles, cans, etc.) We will learn how to be good for nature and why.
I work with Eco Kids every Saturday and I know how much kids love it!

Here is some important info about it:
  • remember about proper dressing for the weather, because everyday we will play outside
  • we will make art & craft with glue and paints also everyday so please do not send your kid in a fancy dress:)
  • be sure your kid is not hungry coming to the workshop
  • I provide water and fruits during the workshop
  • you can call me anytime, I have always a mobile with me
  • bring your kid with a smile, we have so much fun things to do!
All the best and see you on Monday!

Winter session next week

PRZETWORY 2011

There was a fantastic eco event last weekend called PRZETWORY. This was already the 6th edition. This year's theme was "What recycling can do for you?". 200, mostly young, people, not only from Poland, tried to show what recycling can do. I was there with my son and we both enjoyed it a lot.
Recycling seems to be more and more popular in Poland.

I publish some photos from it.

I am looking forward to start ecoworkshop next week! Welcome all new Eco kids!
